Custom-built luxury e-commerce platform for handwoven Banarasi silk sarees.
The challenge
Banarasi Art built its business the traditional way — in person and through word of mouth — selling handwoven Banarasi silk sarees. The brand wanted to expand beyond that into a genuine online presence, so it could reach customers nationally rather than only those who could visit in person, without losing the premium feel a heritage handwoven product deserves — including getting the finished product to the customer's door reliably.
What we built
Built a complete, fully workable e-commerce platform combining a dedicated order/payment/inventory engine with a custom storefront tailored to the brand's browsing needs (fabric, weave, colour, occasion, price)
Integrated Razorpay for payments, including auto-capture and refund handling on customer-initiated cancellations
Integrated Delhivery for shipment booking and tracking, so orders are booked with the courier and tracked automatically rather than being handed off manually
Added promo/coupon code support so the brand can run discounts and marketing campaigns directly through the platform
Delivered a bulk spreadsheet-plus-photos catalog import tool so staff can add or update large batches of products without developer involvement
Added role-based access control for the admin dashboard so different staff roles see and act only on what’s relevant to them
Implemented guest order tracking and self-serve order cancellation, reducing customer-support load for common post-purchase requests
Integrated several third-party services — payments, Delhivery shipment tracking, reviews, and media storage — into one connected platform, plus a code-free content system for the landing page and blog and automated cleanup of unused product images
